Hub/Big Local Café
Join us every Thursday from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm for free tea, coffee, and cake in a warm, welcoming environment. On the second Thursday of each month, enjoy “Soup and a Story” from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm—a time to connect over a shared meal and inspiring stories. We’re committed to supporting our community in meaningful ways, from providing money management guidance to helping combat loneliness. Our Gardening Club offers a space to learn about growing food, caring for your garden, and beautifying our local area together.
Heating and Feeding People
Join us for a warm, home-cooked meal every last Thursday of the month at our Community Lunch, hosted at the Ramblers from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm. With funding from Blackbridge and staffed by our dedicated volunteers, we’re here to serve a freshly prepared meal and dessert to bring comfort and community together.
Social Stuff
Connect and unwind with our quarterly Men’s Nights Out, offering a chance to relax and enjoy good company. Coming soon: a Women’s Saturday Brunch every quarter—a cozy get-together for great food and conversation.
How We Impact the Community
Our community outreach thrives through partnerships with organizations like Blackbridge, Poets Pantry, Grange School, Calton School, GSH, and Friends of Tuffley Park. Each year, we host three major events—Summer, Christmas, and Easter—offering free activities like inflatables, BBQ, crafts, and games. At Christmas, we provide hampers, turkeys, and Santa gifts, and this past Easter, we distributed 975 Easter eggs. Thanks to generous support, all of this is available at no cost to the community.

Contact us for details about our current Grow groups and courses. We offer a variety of opportunities to develop new skills, foster connections, and support personal growth within our community.

We aim to create an environment where every young person feels loved and finds a place to belong. Historically, we’ve provided youth programs such as youth clubs, gatherings, and residential camps.
Currently, we run a small group gathering for young people.
Our dedicated team of trained and DBS-checked leaders volunteer their time because they believe in young people and their potential.
