Move On

Exodus 14:15 - “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.’”

I don’t know about you, but one thing that can trigger a bit of road rage in me is when the lights turn green and the car in front just sits there. They hesitate… or worse, don’t move at all - and before you know it, the lights are red again.

In a way, there’s a hint of that in this passage.

I want to use it to encourage you: move on from whatever is keeping you stuck.

Will you move on?

Maybe it’s hurt, betrayal, a mistake, failure, loss, a negative experience, a past version of yourself, or words that were spoken over you.

This verse comes just before God tells Moses to raise his staff and part the Red Sea. That matters - because the instruction to “move on” came before the waters parted.

Sometimes you have to choose to move forward, even while the problem is still right in front of you. It’s only by moving on that what’s ahead of you can eventually end up behind you.

Perhaps you’ve been stuck in the same place, repeating the same mantras for so long that others around you are starting to sound their horns.

It’s time.

Move on.
